Dr. Stephen R. Hample's Office, CFP
Welcome to Steve Hample's virtual office. The real office is located at 300 North Willson Ave. Suite 202, Bozeman, MT 59715. Our office phone number is (406) 587-4300. Who We Are: Dr. Hample has been a faculty member in the MSU College of Business, past treasurer of the local Chamber of Commerce, a trustee on approximately $5 million of assets and court appointed conservator for several individuals. Steve became a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) in 1989. Please see the resume page for more details or contact us and we will gladly provide our advisory brochure. What We Do: While we serve a broad array of clients, we are most interested in helping with estate planning (including trusts), retirement planning (including small business 401(k) and SIMPLE-IRA plans), investing for specific goals and other strategies such as tax deductible charitable planned giving. Complicated or unusual challenges particularly interest us. Many of our clients are in the net worth range of $500,000 to $10 million, but we also work with smaller accounts. We provide either consulting or investments. How We Charge: We are in business and need to be paid for our services, but we let the client choose the type of service and type of payment. Some people prefer to just pay an hourly fee for questions on a particular topic (such as reviewing a portfolio, creating a trust, setting up a retirement plan, saving for college education, etc.). Some clients seek to invest in mutual funds, stocks, bonds, CD's or annuities and if they do so through us (rather than Merrill Lynch, etc.) then we can be paid the normal commission instead of an hourly fee. Hourly Fees: Financial planning and investment advisory services are billed through Steve's registered advisory company, Financial Planning Associates, LLC at the hourly rate of $120 or at a negotiated percentage of assets. See Intro to Financial Planning. Normal Commission: Steve is also a registered representative of KMS Financial Services, Inc., but any investment brokerage activity is separate from Steve's consulting or planning services. Many advisory clients do not invest through Steve and KMS, but for those who do a wide range of products is available. See Intro to Investment Services. Trustee Fees: Steve also owns and is president of the Trust People, Inc., (www.thetrustpeople.com) which is a banking corporation that Steve formed to take over his growing duties as trustee, conservator or personal representative of estates. While we provide general financial planning, we ask that you consult you own attorney and CPA for specific legal and tax advice. We will be glad to recommend several attorneys, CPAs, realtors or other professionals in the Bozeman area if you request. This site is currently under construction. |
